Throughout the month, I’ve taken notes of those little lovely moments that tickle my fancy. I’d love to share them with you.
- Morning puppy kissies.
- The “-ies” diminutive–kissies, wormies, shrimpies, snackies.
- Slicing a pear down the middle.
- A foot rub with massage oil.
- Freshly shaved skin.
- Drowning in hot sheets, fresh from the dryer.
- The way a dog’s tongue slowly sneaks out for a big yawn.
- Warm spiced fruit bread–think banana, apple, zucchini.
- Making the first footprints in the snow.
- Any and all sleeping positions of a dog.
- Opening the blinds to let in morning light.
- Meditation by candlelight.
- Crying out any and all tears.
- Hot lemon water with honey–especially if a sore throat is involved.
- Sharing exciting news with someone who embraces the giddy.
- My Carhartt hat.
- Waking up slowly, before the sun is out with plenty of time to come to life with the world.
- Progress toward a goal–in my case trying to perform a handstand.
- Acts of kindness from strangers.
- Doing something nice for others with no expectation of the favor being returned.
- Cooking for someone and watching them enjoy it.
- Big chunks of snow that fall from pine tree branches.
- Watching my dog run through deep snow.
- Laughing until my belly and cheeks are sore.
- Being pampered.
- Feeling warm and snuggly when its cold outside.
- Purple nail polish during Aquarius season.
- Seeing loved ones unashamedly happy.
- Leaning into joy fearlessly, even when it’s temporary.
