Nectar
I’m forever grateful to my friend Jill for introducing me to this idea. My nectar list started as a note on my phone, a collection of sweet (like nectar) and simple things that make me feel a little lighter, a little sweeter. On especially dark days, I’d reference my list and do or buy something for myself. Maybe brew a cup of tea or light a candle.
I later read Ross Gay’s “Book of Delights” and Shauna Neiquist’s “Cold Tangerines” that do the very same, relish in the sweet and simple of the everyday. This inspired me to document my own honey and pollen more often, which you’ll find here.
I invite you to read along, savor the nectar, the honey, they thick maple syrup of everyday life. And maybe take a few notes in your phone or journal.
Slow down and enjoy it. There’s beauty in the mundane.
