Throughout the month, I’ve taken notes of those little lovely moments that tickle my fancy. I’d love to share them with you.
- Morning puppy kissies
- The “-ies” diminutive–kissies, wormies, shrimpies, snackies
- Slicing a pear down the middle
- A foot rub with massage oil
- Freshly shaved skin
- Drowning in hot sheets, fresh from the dryer
- The way a dog’s tongue slowly sneaks out for a big yawn.
- Warm spiced fruit bread–think banana, apple, zucchini
- Making the first footprints in the snow
- Any and all sleeping positions of a dog
- Opening the blinds to let in morning light
- Meditation by candlelight
- Crying out any and all tears
- Hot lemon water with honey–especially if a sore throat is involved
- Sharing exciting news with someone who embraces the giddy
- My Carhartt hat
- Waking up slowly, before the sun is out with plenty of time to come to life with the world
- Progress toward a goal–in my case trying to perform a handstand
- Acts of kindness from strangers
- Doing something nice for others with no expectation of the favor being returned
- Cooking for someone and watching them enjoy it
- Big chunks of snow that fall from pine tree branches
- Watching my dog run through deep snow
- Laughing until my belly and cheeks are sore
- Being pampered
- Feeling warm and snuggly when its cold outside
- Purple nail polish during Aquarius season
- Seeing loved ones unashamedly happy
- Leaning into joy fearlessly, even when it’s temporary
