February is my birth month, and it did not disappoint. Filled with little moments and miracles, these days have been a blessing to me. May I take pause and relish even more in March.
- Having my hair washed
- Sun on snow
- Sun peeking through tree leaves
- Golden rays from sunrise
- Multitasking at the laundromat
- Drying herbs
- Making soup from scratch–bone broth and all
- Packing snacks for a car trip
- Focusing on breath
- Finishing a book
- Resting when I’m tired
- Wisco-pop, apparently
- Exploring a new grocery store
- Trying a new fruit
- When my cat follows me to the bathroom and jumps up on my toilet lap.
- Fried plantains, hot and oily from the stove
- Cooking on a gas stove
- A clean car, preferably vacuumed and upholstery cleaned
- New buds on spring plants
- Giving new life to old objects–in February’s case, building a greenhouse out of old lumber and windows
- Eye gazing
- Unclenching my jaw and dropping my shoulders
- HU Vanilla Crunch Dark Chocolate
- Simple Mills Almond Flour Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Plant cuttings
- Freshly painted nails
- Cooking something really tasty and sharing it with someone I love
- Buying seeds
- Aquarius Season
- When lil kids mispronounce words
- Letting myself feel mad about things that are worth being upset over
- Eating out straight out of the pan with whatever cooking utensil cooked the food
- Longboarding, safely of course–helmet and all
- Listening to and honoring my body’s requests
- My cat’s squinty eye
- My back rubbed while falling asleep
- Listening to someone read out loud, in person–almost like a child at bedtime, the way it soothes and comforts
- Fresh peonies
- Fresh flowers
- Dried flowers
- Potted flowers
- All flowers???
