An Invitation

Friends,

I have a wild dream to share with you. I feel quite vulnerable speaking it into existence in a blog of all places, but if you’ve been following along with my journey of self-discovery and are so inclined to entertain my deepest desires, please follow along.

I am fortunate enough to be a landowner, in Rusk County, Wisconsin to be exact. I have 80 acres of mostly virgin land that I share with my brother. I was born on this land, have experienced great hardship on this land, and feel deeply moved to redeem this land.

My dream is to create a kind of sanctuary here. I want a large organic garden, a wildflower field, and an organic orchard with various free-range critters to sustainably roam and enjoy their lives under the shade of the fruit trees.

I want this to be a community based place of healing. It could be visited as a retreat or extended living, with sound bathing, yoga, massage, therapy, everything good in the world. I’d like to create a safe place that is accessible to all, especially to marginalized communities who need love and support.

I want to be able to offer food to people who are hungry, healing to people who are hurt, a sanctuary to people who need rest. //I have found myself in times of extreme struggle, hurt and exhaustion; but have always been tenderly cared for by people who have had excess resources, gentleness, and love. I want to create something that returns the good that I was so graciously offered in difficult times.

This has been on my heart and my mind for several months now. I have this blind faith that this can be funded through gifts of money and labor (I know how insane that sounds, trust me), and I believe that there is enough good in the world to make this happen.

I’m sharing publicly because this isn’t a project I can do alone. There are so many of you who have skills, insight, or connections that I wouldn’t even think of by myself.

This is my open invitation to direct message, text, call, or email (even if nothing more than to send encouragement and love).

Much love,

Lynette

This post has been edited to add that sustainability is extremely important to me. From the way structures are built to the type of chemicals and materials used on the property–I’d love any advice, resources, or insight!
