Wintertime Nectar

  • Fresh snowfall–honestly a light dusting or the opening of the heavens are all wonderful. But to me the best is waking up to big flakes after it has snowed all night, the ground and trees covered in a thick white heaping serving of it. Deep enough to get lost in.
  • Coming inside to warm up
  • A creamy warm drink
  • Baked apples
  • Christmas lights
  • A cloudless night sky
  • Snow angels
  • Walking on a frozen lake
  • Animal prints in the snow
  • Clouds of breath in the cold
  • Big socks over fitted leggings
  • Hand warmers
  • Better yet, holding warm hands
  • Sitting in the shower
  • My friend, Jill, made me an olive oil sugar scrub. That, and using it while sitting in the shower, a hot one.
  • I found an enameled cast iron at the thrift so…
  • Thrifting
  • Cooking in an enameled cast iron
  • Sun on the snow
  • Snuggling with my Jasper
  • Some sweetie pies got me a fishing pole for Christmas. It’s pink and very cute. They (very creatively) drilled holes in the bottom and top of several boxes, and stacked the boxes up with the (very light) pole upright inside. Passing through each hole, it took up very little space in the massive packaging. I was very confused, and the littlest of the sweetie pies was very eager. I had just begun to unwrap when he shouted (involuntarily, it seemed), “It’s a fishing pole!” with so much excitement and pure glee. The biggest smile on his face. All of this. All of it is nectar to me.
  • A wood burning stove
  • Marshmallow fluff
  • Sleeping under a weighted blanket
